Xiangyun yarn, known as the "soft gold" in the silk industry, is a pure natural hand dyed and finished silk fabric unique to China. With mulberry silk as the body, it has gone through the ancient process of "three steaming, nine boiling and eighteen drying". It combines the essence of sunshine, soil and potato buttercups, achieving its unique texture and charm. Its texture is crisp and flexible, breathable and cool, its color is simple and elegant, and the more it passes through the soft, lasting, it can be called a living fossil of oriental silk art. In 2008, the dyeing and finishing technology of Xiangyun yarn was included in the national intangible cultural heritage list.
Guangdong is the birthplace and inheritance base of Xiangyun gauze. The unique climate of Lingnan and the geographical environment of densely covered rivers provide the natural conditions that can not be copied for the "basking in the buttercup" process of Xiangyun gauze. Guangdong Xiangyun gauze is popular in Europe, America, Southeast Asia and other overseas markets because of its unique process and natural environmental protection characteristics. "One or two gold, one or two gauzes", as the "intangible cultural heritage" treasure in Chinese traditional culture, the fragrant cloud gauze born in the south of the Five Ridges is a well deserved Chinese fabric, and has become a popular fashion material for more and more fashion designers and consumers. In this static exhibition, representative brands of Guangdong fragrant gauze, such as Xilin, Tingxi TINGXI, Ximei Lianyi, Huayun Tangyuan, Xiao Niang, Ruyifang, Yuanting, etc., presented various styles of fashionable new products of fragrant gauze, attracting more than 50000 professional visitors.
In addition, in this activity, Xi Lin, one of the top ten fashion designers in Guangdong, released the brand's 2025 spring and summer series products, with the theme of "tracing the weaving time - the time narrative of the folding of the fragrant cloud yarn", turning the thousand year old non fragrant cloud yarn into the longitude and latitude of time and space, inspired by the elegance of the flying sky in Dunhuang, the philosophy of dense ink and the wind trace of the ancient tea and horse road, The transformation and rebirth of oriental civilization are interpreted in the folds of clothes. In the new product release of the original designer brand Tingxi TINGXI of the national style fragrant cloud gauze, Tang Li, the designer, interpreted the cultural essence of the Song Dynasty's "Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains" with the non fragrant cloud gauze. By deconstructing the traditional clothing shape, restructuring the intangible cultural heritage technology and avant-garde aesthetics, the ancient techniques of the fragrant cloud gauze were integrated with the green landscape and Dunhuang caisson patterns of the "Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains", outlining the new charm of oriental aesthetics.
This exhibition promotion activity also specially cooperated with MuseGate to provide generative AI technical support for Guangdong Xiangyun gauze clothing brands participating in the exhibition, so that the millennium intangible cultural heritage can be displayed in a digital form, helping to promote intangible cultural heritage fashion products in the new era. At the same time, more than 12 official live broadcast platforms simultaneously broadcast the event, with a cumulative viewing volume of 3 million people and a total network reach of more than 10 million people.
