This year, Tongzhou Campus will be set up in Zhangjiawan by Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, the first public clothing university in China and the "high-level characteristic university" in Beijing. Last Friday, as a pilot activity to settle in Zhangjiawan, BFS Undergraduate Graduation Works Exhibition made a wonderful appearance at the permanent site of Design Town International Design Week. What does the arrival of Beifu mean to the sub center? At the opening ceremony of the graduation works exhibition, under the spotlight, Huang Keying, the secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, made a speech with a resounding voice: "Beifu is not a simple campus construction, but a deep integration with urban development."

Specifically, Beifu should focus on "three things" in the sub center——

It is necessary to become the "designer of urban renewal" of the sub center, revive the ancient water transport culture with design, attract and gather design, art and cultural resources, shape the brand and image of urban fashion culture, and further enhance the vitality of industry city integration and the bottom line of cultural inheritance.

It is necessary to become the "accelerator of industrial upgrading" of the sub center, integrate universities, business districts and parks, build space for fashion culture display, space for fashion industry value and space for fashion consumption experience, and promote high-quality development of the fashion industry.

To become the "proponent of a better life" of the sub center, teachers and students will fully interact with the residents, enter the community, activate urban micro space, and open aesthetic education classes to primary and secondary schools and social units to inherit, discover, create and spread beauty.

"This is a graduation exhibition full of youth and infinite creativity!" said the live media colleagues in front of the permanent venue of Beijing International Design Week.

The permanent venue used to be the sandwich panel workshop of Beipao Light Steel Plant. After vacating the cage, changing the bird and upgrading, the butterfly has become a modern fashion exhibition hall. With the opening of Beifu Graduation Exhibition, red bricks, French windows, fashion and oil paintings are combined to make the whole park full of art from inside to outside.

Inside the stadium, most of them are young people with fashionable clothes. Looking around the exhibition carefully, the reporter found many elements of the Grand Canal. The work of Chen Yifeng, a student of the Public Art Department of the Academy of Fine Arts, is a sound art interactive device. "Wearing headphones and playing different drums, you can hear the voices of canal chants, canal flowing water and egrets playing." He said that these voices were recorded by himself near the Grand Canal in the past six months, hoping to "explore different Tongzhou" from the perspective of sound art.

In the second half of last year, the graduation projects of Beifu undergraduate students began one after another. With the help of the instructor, Wu Ruohan, the photography major of the Fashion Communication College, also focused on the Grand Canal.

The inspiration for Wu Ruohan's works comes from the three copper boats parked on the water street of the Grand Canal Museum. "After spending a whole day in the museum, I particularly want to build a canal barge in history." She made a special trip to Jining, Shandong Province, along the Grand Canal, rented a house, and became an intangible cultural heritage craftsman who had been a teacher for many years. After more than half a year, her palms were cut by tools for many times, and finally completed the canal sailing boat, which is 1.2 meters long and 2 meters high. Although it is not big, all the crafts The parts are perfectly copied, and even can be launched like a water transport barge.

Neither Chen Yifeng nor Wu Ruohan's hometown is in Beijing, let alone along the Grand Canal. Why are they so interested in Tongzhou Grand Canal? Chen Yifeng said that because he would continue to study as a graduate student in Beifu, he would definitely come to Tongzhou Campus frequently in the future, hoping to go to the Grand Canal to find creative inspiration.

Wu Ruohan's answer is full of humanistic temperament: "Now when Tongzhou is mentioned, everyone will think of the Grand Canal. I hope that in the future, Beifu will also become the name card of Zhangjiawan Design Town."
