The Chinese Medical Assistance Team To Guyuan Appears At The Mashramani Festival To Show Eight Pieces Of Brocade

On February 21 local time, the 20th issue of China (Jiangsu) Assistance to Guyana Medical Team was invited to participate in the celebration of the Mashramani Festival in Georgetown, the capital of Guyana. In the staff culture exhibition hosted by Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC), the medical team displayed the eight section brocade of Chinese traditional health Qigong, which became the focus of the audience.

Mashramani Festival is one of the most important National Day celebrations in Guyana. Its name derives from the Indian language, meaning "celebration after hard work". During the festival, people across the country held grand parades, music performances and multicultural exhibitions. This year, the Chinese medical team was invited to participate, which injected oriental cultural elements into this traditional festival.

At the activity site, members of the medical team dressed in traditional Chinese costumes demonstrated the Baduan Brocade with ancient music. The whole set of movements combines hardness and softness, and moves smoothly, which won many applause from the audience.

Rambalan, chairman of Guyana National Medical Committee and president of Georgetown Public Hospital, said in his speech, "The Chinese medical team not only serves the people of Guyana with superb medical skills, but also actively shares the treasures of Chinese culture. The display of the Baduan Brocade makes us feel the charm of China's traditional fitness culture, which is an important step in cultural exchanges between the two countries."

A Guyana nurse who participated in the Baduanjin experience said: "Baduanjin seems to be soothing, but it can obviously feel the body stretch. We hope to learn deeply and integrate it into daily health management."

In the 20th issue, Du Boxiang, the leader of China (Jiangsu) Medical Assistance Team to Guyana, said that Baduan Brocade originated from ancient China, integrating the concept of traditional Chinese medicine health care, and has the functions of strengthening the body and cultural heritage. This cultural performance is a new practice of the medical team's dual track model of "health assistance+cultural exchanges".

Since 1993, the Chinese medical team has been stationed in Guyana, receiving more than 1.3 million patients.
