    Energy Shoes Invent Shoes

    In this case, tiny droplets are placed between the multi-layer films. When the shoe touchdown causes the droplet to move, energy is generated.

    These energies will then be collected to recharge electronic products.

    Their papers were published in the August 23rd issue.

    These people say, "reverse electric wetting is a new method of collecting high energy."


    Collecting energy from walking is not a new idea.

    For example, a device called nPower PEG can be put into a backpack or briefcase, which generates emergency standby power through body movement.

    Another system, first used in 2008, powered by the energy generated by the dancer's body to the floor lamps of the dance hall.

    But these early systems are relatively inefficient, generating only a few milliwatts of electricity.

    Ke Reuben and Mr. Thailand said their systems could produce up to 10 to 20 watts of energy, enough for most small electronic products.

    These shoes will install USB ports, so any electronic product can be plugged in and use it to collect energy during the wearer's walking.


    Not only that, they can store and operate Wi-Fi hotspot software, the researchers said.

    The invention will make the small electronic products more effective, and the two charging time will be longer apart through the "middleman" between the operation device and the network.

    The energy collected in this process will always be dissipated in the form of heat.

    Reuben explained: "human beings are super productive machines.

    The two of them were inspired by those who needed frequent recharging and were inconvenient to use the power grid, especially those in combat. These people needed to carry a battery weighing 20 pounds (9.07 kilograms) each time in order to recharge communications equipment, notebook power and night vision glasses.

    Ke Reuben and Thailand have set up InStep NanoPower limited to commercialize the technology.

    So far, this is only a concept.

    Researchers have made use of 150 droplets to produce several milliwatts of energy.

    But they concluded by experiment that about 1000 droplets (only 40 square centimeters) can generate 10 watts of electricity.
