The Scenery Is Not In &Nbsp; The Three Major "Strange Aspects" Of Wuhan'S Clothing Industry.
The textile and garment industry was once one of the most advantageous industries after China's accession to the WTO.
Wuhan's textile and garment industry has also been a sight for a while.
Wuhan Business Bureau Foreign Trade Bureau personage introduced, at the peak of Wuhan clothing and textile exports amounted to 1 billion U.S. dollars, but since 2005 gradually decline, in 2010 has dropped to 650 million U.S. dollars, 5 years time fell nearly 4.
Nanchang, which is also a central city, exported textile and garment exports to US $1 billion last year.
Besides the upgrading of industrial structure, the advantages of Wuhan's clothing and textile industry have narrowed.
The three "grimace" that Wuhan textile and garment industry shows on the Canton Fair may help us understand the original story.
For decades, "OEM" is hard to become "brand".
The organizers of the Canton Fair held many special conferences about the trend of men's and women's clothing.
But journalists are hard to find Wuhan's clothing business.
"We don't care about fashion trends."
Du Xiaohong, general manager of Hubei Xin Textile Import and Export Co., Ltd., frankly said, "I don't dare to think about making a brand."
It is reported that the annual output value of Hubei Xin spinning has been tens of millions, but it still adopts the OEM mode according to the buyer's plate production.
"Transforming and upgrading brands is easier said than done."
You have to build your own channels overseas, which requires huge investment.
The market of every country is different, and only one market risk is too high.
The reporters found that none of the 36 Wuhan textile and garment enterprises participating in the Canton Fair had used their own brands in the export, and many enterprises said they could not afford to do it or foreigners did not like it.
Aidi advanced Clothing Co., Ltd. is also used in export trade OEM mode.
He Liang, deputy general manager of AI international trade department, told reporters: "it's very difficult to promote your brand overseas. We can only increase the added value by trying to find some famous brands to do the OEM."
Unlike Wuhan's clothing enterprises, many garment enterprises in Jiangsu and Zhejiang and Guangdong attach great importance to using the Canton Fair to publicize their brands.
Wang Dingying, vice president of Ningbo Taiping Bird Group Co., Ltd., told reporters: "our model is self owned brand, designed by ourselves, outsourcing production.
Now the profit of manufacturing links is getting thinner and thinner. Only when we have our own design and brand can we have bargaining power. Our new customers this year have raised their prices by 10%-15%.
Local enterprises have difficulty in setting up local factories
Most of the manufacturers of clothing trade in Wuhan choose not from Wuhan's clothing factories, but mostly from Jiangsu and Zhejiang and Guangdong manufacturers.
"I worked with the Wuhan factory for several times."
Wuhan chief executive, who did not want to be named, told reporters that "at the most time, we have more than a dozen cooperative factories in Wuhan, and now most of them are pferred to Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.
It is too high for Wuhan manufacturers to raise prices arbitrarily, delay construction periods, and not abide by contracts.
Without credit, even if the contract price is lower, it will be meaningless. Many times I can only go to the factory to supervise myself.
Fang Qiye, general manager of HSBC Hongsheng Co., Ltd., Wuhan, said: "our production base is mostly in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. Only some of them can produce, and Jiangsu and Zhejiang enterprises are more trustworthy."
Huang Faqing, Wuhan Xin Lin Textile Trade Co., Ltd., said: "the vision of Wuhan textile and garment enterprises is relatively short, and it does not focus on the development and upgrading of new products. This is bound to not keep pace with the upgrading of the industry."
In recent years, labor-intensive industries in coastal areas such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Guangdong have been shifting to inland areas.
However, reporters found that in recent years, some garment enterprises in Wuhan have reversed operations and chose to "reverse" Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.
Two years ago, Wuhan Jiangming Beck Garments Co., Ltd. moved the factory from Wuhan to Wuxi.
General manager Chen Anhua introduced, mainly considering the procurement of raw materials in Jiangsu, Shanghai guests in the past is also more convenient, goods exports are relatively close, the big industrial environment makes enterprises develop faster.
In addition, the soft environment of Jiangsu and Zhejiang is better, and paying taxes can do things at ease and no one is looking for trouble.
The government service consciousness is good, for example, the factory has installed the alarm device, as long as the smoke is detected, the fire department will come to check, the enterprise is very reassuring.
Chen Anhua said: "many industrial parks have been seen in Wuhan, but the construction of supporting facilities for employees to eat, drink, live and travel is not ideal. Some mature development zones do not welcome clothing enterprises to enter.
I also went to Luotian, Xishui and other two or three line cities to investigate, but the local industrial environment is poor, and the administrative efficiency is low.
The rising cost of labor in Jiangsu and Zhejiang has also led Chen Anhua to think about "reflux": "the comprehensive cost of Jiangsu may be 10% higher than that of Wuhan. If Wuhan can improve its industrial matching and service, it will still have an advantage in terms of cost."
