The predecessor of Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology is Shandong Textile Vocational College, which is a provincial full-time college of state run.

Founded in 1978, it was rebuilt into a vocational college in August 2001. On April 2006 24, it was renamed as the current school name after being approved by the provincial government.
