In 2005, the coordinative group of garment industry development between East and west of China clothing association passed the inspection in Shaanxi. It is believed that Shaanxi has a strong foundation of scientific research and education because of its deep historical and cultural background, and is in the leading position in the research, education and industrial layout of high and new functional textiles and garments, and has obvious development potential and advantages.

Through nearly 10 years of development, Shaanxi has formed processing zones of Guanzhong foreign trade, professional clothing and casual wear in Xi'an, Xianyang and Baoji. It has formed a brand suit industrial park in Hanzhoung. In Yulin Yuyang District, Mizhi County and Hengshan County, it has formed the largest industrial cluster area of wool cold resistant clothing in China.

Shaanxi has also actively promoted the construction of its own brand, implemented the famous brand strategy, focused on the functional clothing industry, and developed a number of influential brands of clothing, such as Weizhi, Yang Lao, seven sheep and Jinyi, which has brought about rapid growth in the province's clothing for many years. The whole industry has increased by 64.4% over the past 3 years, and in 2009 it has grown 64.4%. It has become a beautiful landscape in the industry. This indicates that the garment industry in Shaanxi has entered a new stage of rapid development. A large number of large cotton spinning enterprises in Shaanxi have certain influence on the whole country with good basic management, high technology level and high product quality.

It is gratifying that in recent years, private textile enterprises in Shaanxi have sprung up. At present, there are nearly 200 private cotton textile enterprises in the province, accounting for more than 90% of the cotton textile enterprises in the whole province, with about 1000000 spindles and more than 20 thousand cloth machines, with annual sales of about 3000000000 Yuan. At present, Qianxian County has become the focal point for the cultivation and support of Shaanxi's textile industry. After the completion of the construction project, the whole county's cotton spinning ingots can exceed 600 thousand spindles, and will become another cotton textile industry gathering place after Xi'an and Xianyang.
