Dongguan Houjie Focuses On Building The World Shoe Industry Base

Houjie Town will focus its efforts on ensuring growth this year. It will leverage the government investment to pry up 5 billion yuan of social and private investment to cultivate new economic growth points.

There are hundreds of shoe factories in Houjie Town, which produce about 600 million pairs of shoes each year, and become the main R & D, trade and manufacturing centers of export footwear and shoe materials and shoe machines in China. In order to build a shoe industry cluster demonstration area, Houjie Town is going to start construction of the Huarui world shoe industry (Asia) headquarters base this year, with an estimated investment of US $160 million.

      華瑞•世界鞋業（亞洲）總部基地副總經理張鴻：“ 要把中國鞋業廣東東莞的鞋業更快地融入全球鞋業競爭體系中，使東莞厚街形成一個鞋業的時尚發布中心和定價中心，成為中國的意大利米蘭。”今年，厚街鎮共啟動了50億元投資項目，其中，政府投資10億元用于生產性投資及水利工程等基礎設施建設，此外，外企和民企項目、民間投資各占20億元。

      厚街鎮委書記黎惠勤：“新的一年我們將以社會投資為主，政府投資為輔的原則，通過政府投資來撬動社會跟民間的投資，我們希望通過這個高強度的投資，對經濟增長產生直接的刺激跟拉動的作用。”刺激本地消費也是厚街擴大內需的重頭戲之一，該鎮將于4月28日到5月28日期間舉辦東莞市首屆酒店文化節活動，提升厚街酒店服務品牌。
