Notice on convening the second enlarged meeting of the Sixth Council of China Leather Association and the 2008 second world leather industry cooperation and Development Forum

The deputy directors, standing directors, directors, member units and honorary members of the relevant provincial and municipal leather associations, production bases and specialized markets:

The second enlarged meeting of the Sixth Council of China Leather Association is scheduled to be held at Rainbow Hotel in Shanghai in from September 1st to 3rd.

The central theme of the conference is to strengthen confidence and realize industrial pformation and upgrading in changing circumstances.

This conference is an important meeting held in the period of the global economic slowdown and the domestic leather industry entering a period of deep adjustment.

This year coincides with the Olympic year of 30th anniversary and centennial of China's reform and opening up. It also suffers from rare freezing rain and heavy earthquakes. In addition, with the influence of many complex factors at home and abroad, the industrial development environment is difficult, uncertain factors are increasing, and the economic stability is becoming more difficult.

This conference will invite the leaders of the relevant ministries and commissions, distinguished economists and industry experts to focus on the analysis of the current macroeconomic situation in the world and China, the direction of the development of labor-intensive industries, and the development status and future trend of the leather industry, so as to guide colleagues in the industry to strengthen their faith and spirit, actively respond to all kinds of new difficulties and new challenges, promote industrial pformation and upgrading in the changing situation, and promote our leather industry to move along a good and fast track.

As an important agenda for this enlarged meeting, the 2008 second world leather industry cooperation and development forum, sponsored by China Leather Association, will be held in September 2nd.

This forum will continue the characteristics of the first forum that is forward-looking, open and inclusive. We invite guests from home and abroad to focus on the theme of "new challenges and new opportunities", and grasp the key issues such as environmental protection, social responsibility, standards, brand internationalization and market integration.

During the meeting, we will also organize "2008 China International Leather Exhibition, China International Footwear Exhibition and China International luggage and leather garment and apparel Exhibition" to participate in the "business dialogue" and "sofa leather supply and demand forum" and many other activities.

1. Representatives attending the meeting should fill in the receipt form (see Annex 1) and fax or E-mail to the Secretariat of our association before August 8th.
