It is reported that Yuepuhu County is a famous agricultural organic standardized production base in China, which has been rated as "the hometown of high-yield cotton in China" by the Ministry of Agriculture. It has unique geographical, climate, soil and transportation advantages to develop cotton. The cotton planting area has been stable at about 750000 mu for a long time, accounting for 64.7% of the cultivated land, with an annual yield of 320000 tons of seed cotton, More than 50% of farmers' income from primary production comes from cotton. The cotton, textile and clothing industry is the leading industry of Yuepuhu County, with a relatively complete industrial chain. There are three cottonseed oil processing enterprises, and the processing capacity of seed cotton is 250000 tons. There are 18 ginning plants, 21 seed cotton production lines, 11 textile and clothing enterprises, with an annual output of 125000 tons of lint, 400000 spindles of yarn, and 50 million meters of various grey fabrics. In recent years, with the full support of the long staple cotton technical team of Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the unit yield of our county's long staple cotton test base exceeded 500 kg for two consecutive years from 2019 to 2020. In 2023, Xinhai 78 long staple cotton varieties were popularized, successfully breaking the bottleneck of long staple cotton that cannot be harvested mechanically, and gaining widespread attention from industry departments inside and outside the region.

At this seminar, participants agreed that, in combination with the teaching contents, experience exchanges and academic reports of experts, professors and scholars, it provided new ideas and new technologies for the high-quality development of Yuepuhu County's cotton industry, and contributed new wisdom and new strength to the green development of the cotton industry. They said that they would make full use of resource advantages, deepen exchanges, learning and cooperation with scientific research institutes, and plan to promote the development of the whole cotton industry chain in Yuepu Lake.

The price of machine picked long staple cotton in 2023 was 50% - 60% higher than the purchase price of lint cotton 。 The planting of long staple cotton is basically 500-1000 yuan more than the planting of lint cotton per mu of land, and the picking rate of machine picked long staple cotton is higher than that of lint cotton. As for Xinyue Textile, 85% of the 15000 mu long staple cotton planted in 2023 is basically machine picked. In 2024, our company will also continue to expand the planting area on the basis of last year, and continue to increase income. "
