Swedish Clothing And Footwear Trade Is Recovering From The Epidemic
According to the Swedish daily on August 12, Swedish clothing and footwear trade is recovering from the epidemic. Sales rose 20% in July compared with the same month last year. Mats hedenstrom, policy manager at Svensk Handel, said online sales increased during the outbreak, and for some clothing stores, growth in e-commerce offset losses in physical stores. Svensk Handel said many retailers have proven that customers have a high desire to buy, with average purchases higher than normal. Good weather in early summer increases sales of summer clothes such as shorts and dresses. However, compared with 2019, the year before the epidemic, the trade in clothing and footwear decreased by 0.5% and 6.3% respectively.
