Characteristics of spring sowing this year:

1, the percentage of machine picked cotton continues to increase. According to the cotton growers in Akesu area, regardless of whether the corps or the local area basically adhere to the "ability to pick up the machine." The machine picked cotton has been welcomed by many cotton growers in recent years due to its characteristics of less variety, good consistency and low cost. In addition, the government support is relatively large. It is estimated that the area of machine picked cotton can be increased to about 80% in 2020.

2, the area of long staple cotton decreased greatly. In 2019, the yield of long staple cotton was significantly less than that of fine staple cotton, and the area of long staple cotton in Akesu decreased a lot this year. Take Awati as an example, in 2019, the area of long staple cotton was around 650 thousand mu, and this year is expected to be 500 thousand mu.

3, the number of cotton farmers in the mainland is decreasing. According to the cotton growers in Akesu, Kashi and Shihezi, the cotton growers in the mainland have come down in Xinjiang.

Recently, cotton prices in Xinjiang have rebounded and sales progress has also improved. As of April 20th, the price of the "double 28" point price of the cotton picking machine in Akesu area was CF05+650 yuan / ton, and the higher price was CF+800 yuan / ton. In addition, due to the recent resumption of textile mill production, cotton sales have increased significantly. According to the introduction of enterprises in Xinjiang area, the cost of transportation in Xinjiang has dropped sharply, for example, the cost of freight transportation from northern Xinjiang to Shandong has dropped to 460-500 yuan / ton line. All these have created better conditions for Xinjiang cotton's sales.

Recently, cottonseed in Xinjiang has a low volume and high price. As of April 20th, cotton seeds in Kashi were quoted at 1.11-1.15 yuan / Jin, and cotton seeds were basically in short supply. According to feedback, due to the fact that all the Xinjiang ginning plants are in a state of shutdown, there is no new cotton seed at all.
