Adidas's 2017 quarter fiscal year second quarter financial results show that during the period, excluding the exchange rate factor, Adidas's global revenue grew by 19%, of which Adidas's brand grew by 21%, and Reebok's brand grew by 5%.
According to the euro, global income increased by 20% to 5 billion 38 million euros (2016: 4 billion 199 million euros).
Adidas's revenue growth benefited from the two digit sales growth of running category, Adidas sports classic series and Neo series.
Among them, the Greater China region is eye-catching. After the first quarter sales grew by 30% over the same period, sales in the second quarter still registered an increase of 28% over the same period.
Mr. Gao Jiali, managing director of Adidas Greater China (ColinCurrie), said: "Adidas will continue to provide consumers with fashionable and functional products, excellent retail experience, and launch more inspiring marketing activities, moving towards the goal of becoming the best sports brand in Greater China by 2020."
Thanks to the substantial increase in operating profit in the first half of this year and the improvement in gross margin, the company raised its full year forecast for the 2017 fiscal year.
Excluding the exchange rate factor, 2017 sales revenue is expected to rise by 17%-19% (previously: 12%-14%), gross profit margin is expected to rise 0.8 percentage points to 50% (previously 0.3 percentage points), operating profit is expected to rise 24%-26% (previously: 13%-15%), operating profit margin is expected to rise 0.6 percentage points to 9.2% (previously: 0.2%-0.4%)
