In Southwest China, the Yunnan provincial chamber of Commerce has launched a special research on boosting foreign trade visits.

For the positive growth, the rest are negative growth, and the EU, US, ASEAN and Japan trade fell by 9.9%, 9.9%, 10.8% and 6% respectively.

Exports are even more severe, whether they are the three largest markets in Europe, America or Japan, or the major economies in East Asia, or the growth rate of BRICs exports are declining, and they all show a two digit decline.

For example, the growth rate of exports to the EU has changed from 1.69% last month to -12.04%, and the export growth rate of ASEAN countries has dropped to -6.77% from last month's -6.77%, and exports to Brazil and South Africa have expanded from last month's -36.15% and -9.97% to -44.36% and -34.7% respectively.

"At present, the global economy has not completely come out after the financial crisis, and the US economy has slowly recovered. Although the EU and Japan have gone through the most difficult period, they are far from complete recovery."

Li Jian, director of the Institute of foreign trade of the Ministry of Commerce, told reporters that the decline in foreign trade in January reflected that the external environment was not optimistic, and that China's foreign trade itself was also in the process of adjustment.

China's foreign trade must come out of the traditional mode of relying on factor input and demographic dividend for decades. Creating new competitive advantages is not overnight.

"Future China's foreign trade needs more pformation and upgrading."
