2014 National Children'S And Children'S Clothing Product Quality Supervision And Spot Checks Results Announced

The AQSIQ announced the results of a nationwide linkage supervision and sampling survey of children and infant clothing products in 2014. A total of 36 batches of products were found to be unqualified, with an unqualified rate of 11%.

Hebei, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, Guangdong, Sichuan, Yunnan and other 10 provinces and municipalities, 326 enterprises produced 328 batches of children and infant clothing products, including

, coat, trousers, skirt, sweater, suit, T-shirt, underwear and pajamas.

The sampling is based on the mandatory national standard GB 18401-2010 "basic safety technical specification for national textile products" and related product standards for children and infant clothing products.

13 items such as formaldehyde content and pH value were tested and determined.

A total of 36 batches of products were found to be unqualified. The unqualified items included fiber content, pH value, sewing strength and color fastness. No important safety items were found to decompose carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes and formaldehyde.

The unqualified items involved 22 batches of fiber content, accounting for 61.1% of the total number of substandard products; 6 of the color fastness and pH values were unqualified, accounting for 16.7% of the total disqualification; 3 of the 3 sewing machines failed, accounting for 8.3% of the total nonconformities; and 1 batches of dry rubbing fastness and color fastness were unqualified, accounting for 2.8% of the total unqualified ones.
