Facing the problems of narrow local market and fierce competition in the surrounding areas, we need to deepen regional cooperation and coordinate development with Guangdong and Hong Kong.

Zhang Zurong, chairman of the Macao trade and Investment Promotion Council, said that the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement between the mainland and Macao and its supplementary agreements have provided many support and convenience for the development of Macao's MICE industry.

For example, the four supplementary agreement signed in 2007 joined the "mainland support and cooperation with Macao to hold large-scale international conferences and exhibitions". The supplementary agreement signed in 2010 seven introduced measures to facilitate mainland enterprises and personnel to participate in the Macao Convention and exhibition activities.
