    Xu Mingzhi, President of Donghua University, stressed that around the national development strategy and the industrial layout of Shanghai, the school is striving to build a new pattern of disciplinary development with "one body and two wings" (with "textile" as the main body, and "materials and design" to develop together), so as to promote the characteristics of schools and bring into play the "spillover effect" of knowledge and talents.     2014 is the twentieth year when Donghua University hosted the international fashion forum during the Shanghai International Costume Culture Festival. The main forum invited experts from top design institutes and institutions from five fashion centers such as Paris, Milan, London, Tokyo and New York to conduct a smart exchange and collision on the trend prediction and publication, and further explore the future trend of fashion development. The "characteristic forum" will hold the Shanghai brand development forum, and release the fashion trend of "Shanghai style" in third consecutive rounds with the international. At the same time, through the publication of the Shanghai style fashion official website and the Shanghai style innovative cheongsam exhibition, the 2015/2016 autumn and winter Shanghai will be released conveniently and intuitively. What kind of colors, graphics, clothing, fabrics, shoes, bags, jewelry and even displays are most popular. Liu Xiaogang, deputy dean of the school of dress and art design, Donghua University, said: "the present Shanghai has already had the backbone to put forward its own fashion proposition. Put forward the Shanghai Fashion proposition, only to achieve the concept of "fashion capital", we need to "uphold the tradition of Shanghai style, condense new values, understand the global fashion and the best Shanghai style, establish a theoretical system, publish research results, strengthen personnel training, reserve industry elite, use diversified media, innovate business channels, build public platforms relying on government support, docking investment capital, achieve market value, continuous cross-border cooperation, expand marginal effects" and many other efforts.


    Liu Chunhong, vice president of Donghua University, believes that if we grasp fashion Discourse power is the source of the sustainable development of fashion and creative industries, so talent is the inexhaustible motive force for its innovation and development. Fashion education is the basis for its survival and continuity.


    At the forum, Donghua University and University of Edinburgh representatives will jointly unveiled the newly established Donghua University Shanghai international fashion and creativity Academy. Approved by the Ministry of education, the college is a two level non-profit Sino foreign cooperative education school affiliated to Donghua University. The Institute will strive to achieve the "four first-class" in accordance with the academic layout of "one body and two wings", namely, creating an international first-class fashion and creative discipline, introducing an international first-class education system, bringing together world-class teachers and cultivating world-class creative talents.


    During the fashion week around Donghua this year, there will be 11 National College Students' three-dimensional garment cutting competition, Shanghai Fashion Designer special clothing conference, school enterprise cooperation graduation design exhibition, and so on, including 6 dynamic exhibitions, Shanghai style sculpture exhibition, Shanghai fashion fashion exhibition, Shanghai history image memory, etc., and creative market, fashion theater and other activities.


    It is worth mentioning that all the students' design works on fashion week are launched around the theme of "Shanghai Fashion", showing the understanding and expression of Donghua students' "Shanghai style". This is precisely the result of Donghua University's adherence to the international cooperation and school enterprise training mode all the year round, and actively cultivating the creative talents with both world vision and local consciousness. Ma Yuru, graduate student of art and Design Institute of Shanghai School of creative cheongsam, attended the Donghua University. He participated in the international cooperation and school enterprise contests of many times, including the Donghua University SWAROVSKI creative design competition and the TOUGH jeans improvement design competition. He went to the New Zealand "world wearable art competition" to win the title, and then to the innovative clothing works as a supporting work of the Shanghai fashion trend. The training mode of "international cooperation, school enterprise cooperation" throughout the whole process of professional education has benefited a lot from her. Nowadays, more students are infected by the strong fashion atmosphere in Donghua, and actively participate in fashion and creative practice.


    It is reported that Donghua University has carried out cooperation with 36 institutions including 12 countries and regions, including France, Paris, New York, London, Italy, Milan and Tokyo, the five most famous fashion schools in the world, including undergraduate education, postgraduate education and curriculum cooperation. The school not only invited Vivian Westwood and many other top international fashion designers and designers as consultants, but also invited 92 outstanding foreign teachers to open 90 international cooperation courses. Donghua students can never leave home and enjoy the teaching methods and educational concepts of the world's best teachers. In terms of school enterprise cooperation, Donghua University has established 25 fashion research bases with SWAROVSKI, ITALINA, Dekunin, Italy IED and other famous enterprises. It has established 33 teaching practice bases in the famous clothing enterprises such as YOUNGOR group, newspaper bird group, Bo Shi Deng group, Shanshan Group, ESPRIT, ADIDAS and other famous garment enterprises.
