Adidas And Other Outdoor Clothing Containing Toxic Fluoride Does Not Affect Health.
Recently, a new test report released by Greenpeace, an international environmental protection agency, shows that some of the world's most famous outdoors.
Sports brand clothing
Including Adidas, TheNorthFace, JackWolfskin (wolf claw) and other 14 brands, the material used for health and environmental harmful chemicals such as perfluorinated compounds (PFC).
Zhu Qinghua, a light industry researcher at CIC, told the daily economic news reporter that harmful perfluorooctanoic acid in perfluorinated compounds is ubiquitous in outdoor brand sportswear, which is not restricted in the testing standard of Chinese outdoor clothing.
Adidas
In its interview with the daily economic news, China headquarters promised: "in 2020, we will achieve zero emissions of harmful chemicals in all products and manufacturing processes of our supply chain."
The above report shows that the Greenpeace German office has conducted a sample survey on the products of famous outdoor clothing brands such as JackWolfskin, TheNorthFace, Patagonia and KaikkiallaandMarmot.
It was found that PFCs was detected in all 14 samples, especially the more toxic perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA).
8 of them detected high concentrations of perfluorooctyl ethanol (FTOH).
Toxic substances such as plasticizers and nonylphenol were also detected in some samples.
At the same time, Greenpeace said in its report that 10 of the 14 products purchased from three countries in Germany, Switzerland and Australia were produced in China, and the sewage generated during the production process was drained into China's rivers.
In this report, Greenpeace requires safer alternatives in the fabric of outdoor clothing to replace and eliminate PFC.
The above report shows that most outdoor sports brands use PFCs in the production process, so outdoor clothing can ensure that we are far away from the trouble of moisture.
These man-made fluorocarbons are very stable. If they enter the environment, they will be difficult to eliminate.
Zhu Qinghua said that perfluorooctanoic acid is a substance widely found in outdoor sports.

However, a small amount of perfluorooctanoic acid does not cause too much harm to the human body.
"Countries have not restricted them for many years. At present, this substance is not restricted in the testing standards of outdoor garments in China."
However, Germany is now putting this substance on the list of "extremely worrying substances".
In a reply to reporters, Adidas official said that one of the company's products was also detected.
However, all the chemical residues detected from the product are entirely within the guidance of laws and regulations.
The chemical residues found in Adidas products do not pose a threat to the health or safety of consumers.
Greenpeace said in its report that the results of the product testing prove that the famous outdoor brand urgently needs to eliminate PFCs from its production.
Today, materials that contain no PFC have been published.
Clothing industry
We must continue to develop PFC alternatives and use more environmentally friendly alternatives in the production of products.
In fact, last year, Greenpeace has passed the report test and made some promises to the sportswear brands to choose alternatives, including Nike and Puma.
"Clothing containing perfluorooctanoic acid now seems to have been accepted by all countries, but considering its harmfulness, all sectors of society should put pressure on them and find substitutes as soon as possible. Otherwise, the accumulation of harmful substances will cause serious harm to the environment and consumer health."
Zhu Qinghua said.
Yesterday, Adidas officials made a promise to achieve zero emissions of harmful chemicals in 2020.
"We lead the clothing and manufacture through collaboration.
shoes
The industry will achieve zero emissions of hazardous chemicals in all products and manufacturing processes of our supply chain by 2020. "
