FTC Draft Revised Rules For Clothing Care Labels

The conclusion is that the rule will continue to be beneficial to consumers and will be retained.

At present, the rules for possible updates are solicited. The changes include: 1, allow manufacturers and importers to conduct professional wet cleaning.

Additional professional wet wash instructions in the label (replacement dry cleaning will be beneficial to environmental protection); 2, manufacturers are allowed to use the latest ATSM (American Association for testing materials) or ISO (International Organization for Standardization) symbols instead of written instructions in the labels; 3, a reasonable basis for explicit nursing instructions; 4, update and expand the definition of dry cleaning and consider the use of new solvents.
