Haitham Abdulmajed just from IFA Paris

After graduating from the master of management course, he began his new journey in the fashion industry.

Today he will share with us his life in preparation for graduation project in Paris.

IFA Paris: can you introduce yourself briefly?

Haitham: I was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Before joining IFA Paris, he traveled to London, Manchester, Milan, Shanghai and Paris in Europe.

Meanwhile, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Manchester, and I studied makeup and photography courses at Milan Fashion Institute. Recently, I ended the IFA Paris.

IFA Paris: what are the reasons for your fashion design series?

Haitham: my work is specially designed for year-end creative projects.

I chose the theme of "protecting nature and saving life", hoping to design a true expression of the idea of protecting the earth, the natural habitat of mankind.

The shape and profile are all from the classic armoured bulletproof vest. In order to fit my theme, clothing is made of 100% recycled materials, including magazine paper, plastic garbage bags and bubble paper.

IFA Paris: how long did it take you to make the last dress?

Haitham: the manual part takes about a month.

I am very satisfied with the final dress effect, and I feel very fulfilled.

IFA Paris: what is the most difficult part in the fashion design process?

Haitham: flowers are definitely the most difficult part. Each flower takes 20 minutes to make.

I want to give every flower life and make them cluttered together.

Finally, there are about more than 20 flowers blooming on each shoulder.

IFA Paris: what are your plans for the future?

Haitham: relatively speaking, the Saudi fashion industry still has many limitations.

Therefore, if we can bring new and inspiring projects and ideas to the fashion industry in Saudi Arabia, we will get more opportunities.

I hope to set up my own beauty center in Saudi Arabia to blend oriental culture with western contemporary culture perfectly.

This center can provide an identity for my design, which is closely linked with my own culture and can be combined with the diversity of European fashion.

IFA Paris: how do you feel about learning IFA Paris?

Haitham: I highly recommend IFA Paris, the fashion design institute.

It made me deeply attracted by Paris and laid the foundation for my further exploration in this city.

Haitham: first of all, I like the diverse atmosphere of international students here, which gives me the opportunity to experience different people, and also to understand the fashion trends in other cities.

Second, teachers are really great! Especially every teacher has unique fashion background and can share different professional experience.

I find this the most valuable.

Finally, having the opportunity to study and explore Paris's luxury and fashion center in Paris is simply the ideal of fashion lovers.
