Even in 2009, the two sides had a "fighting" incident in Li Zhuang, Huimin County, Shandong province. The reason is that Wei Qiao group wants to send its electricity to Huimin County.

In November 2011, some officials in Xinjiang had studied Wei bridge, hoping to copy the Wei bridge mode to Xinjiang, and make a systematic report on Wei Qiao's private power system.

In a report which has already been disclosed by the media, the conflict between Wei Qiao power and the Shandong electric power group of the State Grid is described. The Wei Qiao power system once had sharp conflicts with the state power. On the one hand, it promised the provincial government to increase its investment in power grid, and on the other hand, it had a serious conflict with Wei Qiao electric power.

Wei Qiao's behavior is largely a challenge to the monopoly of the State Grid, so that the public can see the problem under the high electricity price.

Lin Boqiang, director of the China Energy Economics Research Center of Xiamen University, told reporters that the Wei bridge mode is only a case.

He thinks that if we compare the price of Wei Qiao power plant with that of the State Grid, there must be consistency between them, such as cost and many other factors.

Because at present, Wei Qiao power plant does not undertake pportation costs, nor does there exist cross subsidization and other additional expenses such as the Three Gorges fund. In this way, the two sides can not compare on a horizontal line, and the Wei Qiao power plant is selling electricity on the condition that they can not afford to use it, so this is a very special case.
