This year's ninth expositions will also organize the first China ASEAN Ministerial Conference on science and technology cooperation, focusing on the development and needs of China ASEAN cooperation, holding a series of high-level forum (Conference) and exchange activities around vocational education, finance, logistics, culture and other fields, and continue to push forward the multi field cooperation between China and ASEAN.

The Ninth China ASEAN Expo will intensify efforts to deepen the multi field cooperation between China and ASEAN, further expand the cooperation areas between China and ASEAN, deepen the bilateral cooperation levels in various fields, and provide more support and protection for bilateral cooperation in the field of economic and trade cooperation.

The ninth Expo will continue to hold rich and colorful forum meetings and exchanges around the key areas of cooperation between China and ASEAN. It is understood that the Expo will focus on the theme of "science and technology cooperation", and will hold the first series of activities such as the ASEAN China Science and technology ministerial conference, to provide a platform for China to exchange fruits with ASEAN countries and strengthen cooperation in science and technology. Natural resources, medicine, vocational education, cultural exchange and cooperation, social development and poverty reduction and so on. More than 10 high-level forums (conferences) and exchange activities will be held, including the fourth China ASEAN financial cooperation and Development Leadership Forum, the China ASEAN credit rating forum, the third China ASEAN SPS (animal and plant inspection and Quarantine) ministerial meeting, the 2012 China ASEAN cultural industry forum, the 2012 China ASEAN Vocational Education Forum, the third China ASEAN International Stomatology exchange and cooperation forum, the third China ASEAN Logistics Cooperation Forum, the Fifth China ASEAN think tank strategic dialogue forum, the 2012 China ASEAN Beibu Gulf (Guangxi) advanced manufacturing Development Forum, the Greater Mekong sub regional resources cooperation development and Sustainable Development Symposium and so on. The conference will also focus on technology transfer, finance, inspection and quarantine, advanced manufacturing and logistics. The high level Forum on vocational education will focus on government and vocational education, carry out China ASEAN vocational education dialogue, promote policy exchange, build cooperation platform and establish partnership. The Symposium on resource cooperation and development and sustainable development of the Greater Mekong sub region will conduct in-depth studies on the problems encountered by the countries of the Greater Mekong Subregion in resource exploration, development and utilization, and provide more suggestions for the two sides in promoting and promoting sub regional resources trade, investment cooperation and sustainable development.

Since the Expo was held, we have organized a series of high specification forums (conferences) and cultural and sports exchange activities in cooperation with each other in the field of economic and trade cooperation. We have set up an important platform for China ASEAN multi field cooperation, and practically promoted the all-round, multi-level and wide range cooperation between the two sides.

With the continuous expansion and deepening of China ASEAN Economic and trade cooperation, the two sides have put forward new demands for customs, inspection and quarantine, finance, ports, logistics, information and communications. For example, the bilateral trade in goods is growing rapidly, and the two sides need to strengthen cooperation between customs and quality inspection to raise the level of convenience. The expansion of mutual investment between the two sides requires the two sides to strengthen financial cooperation and provide better support for enterprise investment. The growth of bilateral trade and investment requires the two sides to strengthen cooperation in many areas such as transportation, logistics and communications, and improve infrastructure support. At the same time, economic and social cooperation should be combined with cultural, educational and sports exchanges in order to form a sustained driving force for economic and social development. Therefore, according to the needs of this situation, the eight session organized a series of high-level forums (conferences) and exchange activities around the customs, quality inspection, news, culture, women, youth and other fields, carried out ministerial consultations and dialogues, invited entrepreneurs and experts and scholars to exchange meetings, and studied and solved the hot issues of cooperation in various fields.

From the initial entry and exit inspection and quarantine cooperation, logistics cooperation, rural energy and free trade area legal affairs, to the following 11 key areas of cooperation and other areas, more high-level forums and high specification meetings were held. In the past 8 years, more than 200 high-level forums (conferences) and related activities have been held to enable the two sides to conduct more in-depth exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation in a wider field and at more levels. For example, the China ASEAN entry and exit inspection and quarantine Cooperation Forum, the China ASEAN quality inspection Ministerial Conference and the ASEAN ASEAN TBT (standard technical regulations and conformity assessment) ministerial meeting were held around the inspection and quarantine. The China ASEAN telecommunications week forum, the China ASEAN Telecom week information and communication industry and Business Forum and the China ASEAN Telecom week radio spectrum management forum were held around the telecommunications field, and the China ASEAN financial cooperation and Development Leadership Forum was organized around financial cooperation.

The Expo also set up the theme of the charming city, displaying the image and development opportunities of the 11 cities, organizing a series of cultural and sports exchange activities such as the Nanning International Folk Song Festival, extending the cooperation between China and ASEAN to more fields such as culture and sports, and promoting the cooperation in many fields.

Forming a cooperative mechanism

The establishment of China ASEAN Expo series forum and related activities has institutionalized and normalized the important channels of communication, mutual contact and common development between China and ASEAN, and formed a series of cooperation mechanisms in related fields, providing a mechanism guarantee for bilateral trade, humanities and other comprehensive cooperation. China ASEAN training base has further strengthened the exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN in youth and women, increased the understanding and communication between China and ASEAN countries, and promoted the mechanism of cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, such as China ASEAN commodity exchange center, providing a broader platform for deepening bilateral economic and trade cooperation; consultation and dialogue mechanism, such as China ASEAN port cooperation mechanism, China ASEAN customs and business cooperation mechanism, China ASEAN quality inspection minister consultation and cooperation mechanism, China ASEAN Information and communication cooperation mechanism, China ASEAN financial cooperation mechanism, and China ASEAN electric power cooperation mechanism, etc., provided a platform for the two sides to exchange information and work in these areas, solved new problems encountered in cooperation, and provided more guarantees for bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation. These mechanisms include the exchange training mechanism, such as the China ASEAN women's training centre.

Over the past eight years, the fruitful achievements of the multi platform cooperation platform of the Expo and its continuous influence and tremendous radiation force have attracted more and more attention from the parties to the platform effect of the Expo in the multi field cooperation between China and ASEAN.

ASEAN Secretary General Sulin said that the China ASEAN Expo is the best symbol of friendship and cooperation between China and ASEAN, and the Expo is also becoming more and more successful and more comprehensive.

Fan Xingmei, Consul General of Vietnam Consulate General in Nanning, said that the China ASEAN Expo has become one of the most important activities under the framework of cooperation between ASEAN and China, and plays an important role in promoting the comprehensive cooperation between ASEAN and China.

Tong Xiaoling, China's ambassador to ASEAN, said in an interview with reporters that since the establishment of dialogues between China and ASEAN, remarkable achievements have been made in the field of cooperation.
