October Taiwan Industrial Production Index Textile Industry Reduced By 10.15%

The Statistics Department of the Ministry of economic affairs of Taiwan announced that the industrial production index in October was 128.16, an increase of 1.77% in the month, and an increase of 2.52% after seasonally adjusted. If compared with the same month last year, the industrial production increased by 1.41%, and the annual rate of increase reached a new low since September 2009.

The Taiwan statistics office said Thailand's shortage of HDD due to flooding in the NB will be apparent, while the overall economic downturn has slowed down the expansion of machinery and equipment. It is estimated that industrial production and manufacturing production will still decline in November.

In October, the manufacturing industry increased by 1.34% over the past year. The main industries increased output in the computer and electronic products and optical products industry (19.77%), other transportation industries (6.70%), and non-metallic mineral products industry (increased by 5.68%), while the textile industry (minus 10.15%) and the chemical industry (9.80%) decreased more.

According to the survey results, the percentage of producers in November will be 8.05% higher than that in October, with a flat ratio of 72.57%, a decrease of 19.38%, and a manufacturing production trend index of 44.34. According to the statistics department, industrial production and manufacturing production will continue to decline in November, and production in the fourth quarter will be lower than that in the previous 3 quarters, with an annual growth rate of only 5%.
