PatrickThomas, chief executive of Hermes, has warned that the strong demand for luxury goods in the second half of the year may exceed its inventory and production capacity.
The company currently expects its operating profit to slightly exceed the record set in 2010, while previous forecasts suggest that business profits will remain largely unchanged this year.
In the three months to September 30th, the total income of Hermes was 683 million 200 thousand euros (about 967 million 200 thousand US dollars), compared with 590 million 100 thousand US dollars (about 761 million 200 thousand US dollars) in the same period last year.

Hermes' own brand franchised store has achieved good results - sales in the third quarter increased by 15.5%, and most of the major product categories grew strongly.
Among them, sales of garments and fashion accessories increased by 28.9%, and sales of silk products and other textiles increased by 21%.
The third quarter sales of Hermes leather goods and harness increased by 8.1%. In the Hermes group's financial report, special emphasis was placed on the new product models including Lindy and Jypsi RE series bags, in addition to the classic Kelly packages and Birkin packages.
Hermes's wholesale sales revenue increased 16% in the third quarter.
Watch sales far ahead, sales rose 22.4%; perfume sales rose 11.2%; tableware sales rose 15%.
Regionally, the Asian region outside Japan performed the best in the quarter, with sales rising 28.9% year-on-year, followed by the European market excluding France, which rose by 21.3%.
Hermes's total sales in the third quarter increased by 4.3% over the same period last year.
