Global Yarn And Fabric Production Declined In The First Quarter

Report of the International Federation of textile manufacturers, the first quarter of 2011 Global Yarn and fabric production decreased compared with the previous quarter, but increased compared with the first quarter of last year. Production in Asia, Europe and South America has been reduced, dragging down global yarn production. It is worth noting that the main reason for the decrease in yarn production in the first quarter of 2010 is the decline in Chinese production. In China, compared with other quarters, the output of traditional production was lower in the first quarter, because the number of working days decreased in the Chinese New Year. Therefore, compared with the first quarter of 2010, it is very important for Chinese yarn production to increase in the first quarter of 2011. In the first quarter of 2011, yarn production in North America increased absolutely.

Global fabric production also declined due to reduced production in Asia and Europe, while production in North America and South America failed to compensate for the decrease in production. Global yarn and fabric production continued to grow year-on-year. Only South American yarn production decreased compared with the first quarter of 2010. Global yarn inventories grew in the first quarter of 2011 over the previous quarter, as inventories in South America and Asia increased. Only European yarn stocks fell slightly.

Except for a slight decrease in Europe, yarn inventory in all regions was seen year-on-year. increase 。 In the first quarter of 2011, global fabric inventories also increased year-on-year, as Asian fabric inventories increased, while inventories in South America, North America and Europe decreased. From a year-on-year perspective, fabric inventories in Asia, North America and Europe increased, but inventories in South America declined. European orders for yarn and fabric increased in the first quarter of 2011, but orders in Brazil decreased. Meanwhile, compared with the first quarter of last year, orders for yarn and fabric in Europe increased, while orders in Brazil decreased.

In the first quarter of 2011, world yarn production decreased by 11.3% compared with the previous quarter. In Asia, Europe and South America, yarn production decreased by -12.2%-2.6% and -0.1% respectively, and North America's output increased by 5.1%. Yarn production increased year by year in North America (10.2%), Asia (6.6%) and Europe (1.3%), but down south (-0.6%).

Like the global yarn situation, global fabric production has dropped by 11.8%, due to the decline in Asia and Europe (-14.3% and -2.0% respectively), while the increase in North America and South America (13.3 and 5.9% respectively) can not make up for the decrease in production. Compared with the first quarter of 2010, fabric production in all regions increased. South America increased by 15.7%, the largest increase, followed by Europe (3.8%), Asia (3.7%) and North America (3.7%).

Global yarn inventories increased by 2% in the first quarter of 2011 compared with the previous quarter. Among them, North America increased by 11.1%, Asia increased by 2%, but Europe's small decline by -0.3%. From a year-on-year perspective, global yarn stocks increased by 7.4%. In especial South America Yarn inventories soared by 83%, while Asia increased by 5.3%, and Europe barely increased or decreased (-0.1%).

In the first quarter of 2011, European yarn and fabric orders increased by 0.3% and 2.8% respectively compared with the previous quarter. Similarly, from a year-on-year perspective, yarn and fabric orders increased by 1.1 and 2% respectively in Europe. The situation in Brazil is totally different. In the first quarter of 2011, yarn and fabric orders plummeted -13.4% and -4.7% respectively.
