Quanzhou Three Level Trade Unions Jointly Resolve Disputes On Industrial Injury Compensation

In July 29th,

At 8 o'clock in May 23rd, Liu Guohui, a staff member of a building material factory in Xintang, Jinjiang, was involved in a spiral machine when he operated a brick machine.

Due to serious infection of the lower extremities, Quanzhou 180 hospital has amputated its upper extremity.

The cost of treatment and nursing is paid by the enterprise.

In July 14th, Liu Guohui was discharged from hospital, but his limbs were broken by neuralgia.

Liu Guohui is from Nanchong, Sichuan, working with her wife in Jinjiang.

His wife had no job. His son just went to college this year, and the elderly at home needed support. His work injury led to the loss of family support.

His brother arrived in Quanzhou from Sichuan, with the help of Jinjiang Xintang street trade union, to work together with the enterprises to negotiate a solution.

In July 25th, Quanzhou, Jinjiang and Xintang three level trade unions and Xintang street labor stations coordinated the settlement of Liu Guohui's industrial injury compensation.

After several rounds of coordination, the enterprise finally agreed to pay Liu Guohui's disability compensation, nursing expenses, prosthetic installation and maintenance fees totaling 1 million yuan (including hospitalization expenses and nursing expenses of 200 thousand yuan, which has been paid by enterprises) and paid two times in July 29th and August 10th.

In July 29th, Liu Guohui, with the help of the two levels of trade unions in Quanzhou and Jinjiang, received 400 thousand yuan compensation, and the remaining 400 thousand yuan would be paid by August 10th.

The two level trade unions in Quanzhou and Jinjiang successfully resolved a compensation dispute and maintained the legitimate rights of workers injured.
