Ministry Of Commerce: Prices Of Edible Agricultural Products Are Expected To Continue To Rise.

Ministry of Commerce pointed out that the cold weather, slow growth of vegetables, resulting in reduced market supply, last week, the average wholesale price of 18 vegetables rose by 1.9%.

Among them, there are 16 kinds of price rise, and 2 decrease.

The prices of cabbage, eggplant and potatoes rose by 7.5%, 6.4% and 5.6% respectively, while lettuce and tomato prices dropped by 3.3% and 2% respectively.

It is expected that vegetable prices will continue to rise in the late stage.

During the autumn and winter pork consumption demand and the increase of feed price, the domestic pork wholesale price rose 0.7% last week, the price of Shanghai, Chengdu and Taiyuan increased by 5%, 4.6% and 3% respectively.

In addition, the wholesale price of lamb and beef rose 1.2% and 0.4% respectively last week, and is expected to rise slightly in the latter period.

The price of eggs rose by 0.3% during the period. Although the market supply is relatively adequate, the price of eggs will be maintained at a high level.

Last week, domestic retail prices rose slightly by 0.2%, despite the increase in breeding costs and increased demand for meat in winter.

The price of this aquatic product increased by 0.1%, and the prices of small yellow croaker, hairtail, yellow croaker and silver carp increased by 1.3%, 0.9%, 0.9% and 0.4% respectively. The prices of small hairtail, grass carp, carp and Carassius auratus decreased by 0.8%, 0.6%, 0.4% and 0.3% respectively.

The price of refined oil and the increase of artificial fishing cost will push up the price of aquatic products. The price of aquatic products will be up and down in the later stage.

The Ministry of Commerce said that the price of sugar continued to rise last week, and is expected to continue to rise slightly in the near future.

On the other hand, the price of imported soybeans and crude oil increased, pushing up the production cost of oil plants. The retail price of domestic edible oil continued to rise slightly by 0.5%, of which retail prices of soya bean oil, rapeseed oil and peanut oil rose by 0.6%, 0.5% and 0.3% respectively.

In addition, last week, grain prices rose by 0.3%, of which retail prices of small packaged flour increased by 0.4%.

The Ministry of Commerce said that due to the sufficient supply of wheat in China, the price of flour in the late stage would not increase substantially.

Retail prices of small packaged rice rose 0.2%, or 0.2 percentage points from the previous week.

The Ministry of Commerce pointed out that rice prices may continue to rise slightly due to the strong mentality of farmers' reluctant to sell and the rising price of rice at later stage.
