The entry-exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau learned that from 1 to August this year, the Bureau inspected 12448 batches of export garments and the value of goods was 629 million 535 thousand and 800 US dollars, up 19.6% and 41.08% respectively over the same period last year.

With the increase of garment export volume, the requirements for safety and environmental protection of export clothing are also more and more stringent. Experts from Shunde inspection and Quarantine Bureau suggest that export clothing enterprises improve their legal awareness and environmental awareness and jointly cope with foreign technical barriers to trade.

Export garments

More than 60% of the total exports to the European Union, the United States, China, Hongkong, South Korea, South Africa, Australia and other countries and regions, of which the European Union and the United States account for more than 70% of the total export clothing.

Export clothing manufacturers mainly distribute small and medium sized enterprises located in Junan, Ronggui, Xing Tan and Lun religion. Most enterprises export between millions of dollars and about ten million dollars each year, and the number of front-line production workers ranges from dozens to hundreds of people.

Production, key process and product production technology have been comprehensively upgraded, and the product quality is stable and reliable.

However, with the increase of garment export volume, overseas requirements for export clothing safety, environmental protection and other aspects are also getting higher and higher.

Relevant experts suggest that export clothing enterprises should strengthen their legal awareness and environmental awareness, and strictly organize production according to the import country's technical regulations, and effectively control the "PH" value of environmental protection.

Especially for children's clothing exported to the European Union, the United States, Japan and other countries and regions, the azo dyes, combustion performance, fiber content, pentachlorophenol, formaldehyde content, pH value, and safety items such as the length and small parts of children's clothing should be prohibited.

In addition, the industry should further communicate and collaborate to share resources and information and jointly cope with foreign technical barriers to trade.
