    The next decade: billion level consumption


    Alibaba just passed the tenth anniversary last year. On the tenth anniversary, all our employees and many shareholders and customers announced to the world the direction and main goals of Alibaba's development in the next ten years. We proposed three major goals.


    First, we hope to create a platform for the survival, growth and development of 10 million small enterprises around the world.


    Second, we hope to create 100 million jobs worldwide.


    Third, we hope to solve the problem of consumption for 1 billion people around the world.


    These three goals sound very grand, and very adults sound very arrogant and very big. But we think that these three goals are a little bigger. But without such an idealism and vision, we may lose our future direction.


    Because Alibaba has been an idealistic company for ten years. Our idealism+realism has come to this day step by step. Our whole company is based on the vision, and we make strategies based on it.


    Our company management is not only based on rules and regulations, but also on culture and values.


    So if we don't propose a goal in ten years' time, our company may lose the goal.


    So today, we say to solve 100 million employment opportunities, provide a platform for 10 million enterprises to survive and grow, and solve the consumption problem of 1 billion people. We have such a big dream now. Do others think you can do it first? Second, should you do it? Is it something you should do?


    First of all, can we do it? About ten years ago, when we started our business in Lakeside Garden, we said that we wanted to be the most proud company founded by Chinese people in the world. We hope that one of the numerical indicators is that our company will become a company with a market value of more than 5 billion dollars. At that time, we raised 500000 yuan, which everyone thought was impossible, but we did.


    Today, Alibaba Group has nearly 20000 employees. Today, Alibaba's cash reserves may be the largest in the entire Internet company, and we have the largest cash reserves in the entire group in China. Today, we have 50 million B2B users, nearly 200 million Taobao users and more than 300 million Alipay users. We have countless young people and countless users. If we still position ourselves as a simple company that can only earn money and work every day, I don't think our company is very meaningful.


    Because what Alibaba lacks today is not "making money". I still think so. I saw a TV series two days ago saying that what we lack is not making money. What we lack is meaningful making money, something meaningful to society. So this is our view of the next decade.
