RSL Seminar On Textile And Footwear Products In Europe And America

The Symposium on "new RSL directive on textiles and footwear products in Europe and America", organized by Intertek Tianxiang group, the world's leading quality and safety service organization, was successfully held in Dongguan, a heavy manufacturing industry in China.

This seminar focuses on the restricted substances in textiles and footwear products in the European and American quality management system. The technical experts of the Intertek textile and footwear laboratory have systematically sorted out these substances, explained the relevant technical requirements, and put forward specific solutions.

In the past more than 10 years, the shoe clothing industry in Dongguan has developed rapidly and achieved remarkable achievements. Humen town has become a famous clothing town in China and is known as the "capital of clothing".

Textile, clothing and shoes are also the two traditional export commodities in Dongguan.

In recent years, the access threshold for such commodities has been continuously improved in major import and export markets in Europe and the United States. The most important performance is the increase of restricted substances and the continuous reduction of the limit value. The pressure on enterprises and the penalty pressure caused by the lack of conformity of products are also increasing.

At the seminar, Ms. Wang Xiaoli, senior consultant of Intertek technology research, made a professional analysis of the European and American markets for the requirements of lead and phthalate two formate, the EU's REACH regulations and their highly concerned substances, as well as the carcinogen sensitizing dyes, formaldehyde, cadmium, nickel and other key restricted substances.

Ms. Wang also talked about eco textiles and expounded the concept of "eco textile labels".

Eco textiles emphasize the disposal of wastes after the use of textiles; the processing in the production process; and products are harmless to users.

"Eco textile represents the new trend of global consumption and production, and is also one of the best ways to deal with green barriers and expand international market share."

At present, some large textile and apparel dealers in Europe and America have already obtained the certification of ecological textiles as an important reference for purchasing.

Intertek's eco textile certification system not only takes account of the laws, regulations and requirements of various countries concerning the ecological products, but also requires the buyers to satisfy the requirements of the ecological performance of the products.

The seminar attracted many shoe and garment enterprises in the Pearl River Delta region.
