Industrial Cluster: 1.3 Million Mu Cotton Harvest In Awati Is In Sight

At present, with 1.3 million mu of cotton in Awati County entering the flowering and bolling period, agricultural technicians in Awati County timely carry out mid-term cotton survey to guide field management in key cotton periods and help cotton farmers increase production and income.

On July 25, in the cotton field of Kaiser Elken, a villager in Karkujack Village, Bagtograk Township, Awati County, technicians measured the number of seedlings and bolls and scientifically calculated the cotton yield by checking, measuring and counting.

"This year I planted 112 mu of cotton. During the stages of cotton planting and management, technicians often came to provide guidance services. At present, our cotton is growing very well, and it is estimated that the yield per mu is about 450 kilograms. Later, I will continue to do a good job of disease and pest control according to the service guidance of technicians to ensure a good harvest this year." Says Kaiser Elken, a villager in Kalkujack Village, Bagto Grak Township.

In this mid-term survey, agricultural technicians in Akesu region and Awati County adopted the method of random or synchronous sampling to conduct scientific measurement on each cotton field to ensure that the measurement data is true and effective. At the same time, they guided farmers to do a good job of field management in key periods such as cotton field watering and chemical control on the site, so as to help increase cotton production and efficiency.

"Today we carried out a mid-term cotton survey, mainly investigating the cotton plant height, number of fruit branches, number of buds, bolls and flowers, flower bundles and other fertility indicators. Through the survey of fertility indicators, we scientifically predicted the situation of our cotton production this year, and guided growers to do a good job in the next step of cotton field management." said Ye Xinhua, a senior agronomist of Akesu Agricultural Technology Promotion Center.

This year, the cotton planting area in Awati County reached 1.3 million mu. Since the mid-term survey of cotton in the whole county was fully launched on July 23, more than 10 agricultural technicians from agricultural and rural areas have gone deep into all villages and towns in the county to carry out the mid-term survey of cotton, which is expected to be completed by the end of July.

"Next, we will continue to strengthen technical services and fine management, organize technicians to connect with cotton farmers, provide scientific guidance for high and stable cotton production, ensure the sustainable, healthy and stable development of cotton industry, and increase cotton farmers' output and income." said Kadir Ayi Maimaiti, agronomist of Awati County Agricultural Technology Promotion Center.
