Description of China Cotton Price Index (CC Index)

The "China Cotton Price Index" is the first comprehensive indicator representing the spot price level of cotton in China. It is calculated on the basis of the actual arrival price of cotton of nearly 200 large and medium-sized textile enterprises and cotton enterprises in China, and mainly reflects the comprehensive average price level of domestic main grade cotton to domestic textile enterprises on the day before the release date. The index is finally generated after several weighted calibrations based on the proportion of provincial spinning volume in the national spinning volume and the spinning capacity of each quoted textile enterprise.

China's cotton price index released three representative varieties CC Index3128B, CC Index2129B and CC Index2227B represents the actual transaction price of domestic cotton spot of "high, medium and low" grades.

CC Index3128B is white cotton grade 3, 28mm long, and micronaire value grade B represents standard (medium grade) cotton; CC Index2129B is white cotton grade 2, with a length of 29 mm, and micronaire value grade B, representing high grade cotton; CC Index2227B is light spot dirty cotton grade 2, 27mm long, and micronaire value grade B, representing low-grade cotton.

The price and provincial data of 1129B, 1228B and 4128B are also released when the three representative varieties are released.

The price released by China's cotton price index under the new standard, except for the color level, length level and micronaire value level, other indicators are limited to medium length uniformity, medium specific breaking strength, medium rolling quality and low content of foreign fibers.
