The latest data released by the General Administration of Customs on May 9 shows that the steady foreign trade policy has been effective, overseas importers have gradually entered the inventory replenishment cycle, enterprise confidence has been boosted and other favorable factors have jointly driven the decline of textile and clothing exports in April to narrow significantly compared with the previous month. In dollar terms, the export volume of textile and clothing in that month was 23.93 billion dollars, down 3.4% year on year, 14 percentage points less than that in March. From January to April, textile and clothing exports totaled US $89.84 billion, up 0.6% year on year. Among them, the cumulative export of textiles increased by 1.2% year on year, while the cumulative export of clothing was the same as last year.

From January to April 2024, the total export of textile and clothing is 638.22 billion yuan, an increase of 4% over the same period last year (the same below), including 314.59 billion yuan of textile exports, an increase of 4.6%, and 323.63 billion yuan of clothing exports, an increase of 3.3%.

In April, the export of textile and clothing was 169.89 billion yuan, down 0.4% year on year and up 14.9% month on month, of which the export of textile was 86.53 billion yuan, up 0.5% and 17.3% month on month, while the export of clothing was 83.36 billion yuan, down 1.4% and up 12.5% month on month.

From January to April 2024, textile and clothing exports totaled US $89.84 billion, an increase of 0.6%, including textile exports of US $44.28 billion, an increase of 1.2%, and clothing exports of US $45.56 billion, the same as last year.

In April, the export of textile and clothing was US $23.93 billion, down 3.4% and up 15% month on month, of which the export of textile was US $12.19 billion, down 2.5% and up 17.4% month on month, while the export of clothing was US $11.74 billion, down 4.4% and up 12.6% month on month. ?
