    The innovation team of functional factor utilization and biosynthesis of the Institute of Jute Research, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences found that jute nano cellulose can inhibit the proliferation of small RNA viruses by regulating intestinal microorganisms and metabolism, providing a theoretical basis for the research and application of jute functional factors in pharmaceutical and food nanomaterials.     Intestinal microbiota plays an important role in regulating host development, metabolism and immune function. Studies have shown that viral infection will lead to the destruction of intestinal microbiota, and antibiotic treatment will make it easier to infect viruses, which indicates that intestinal microbiota plays an important role in antiviral response. However, there is no effective therapeutic drug with no toxic side effects at present. It is of great significance to further explore natural biomaterials for the environment and human health.

    This time, researchers found that jute nano cellulose can significantly increase the abundance of core intestinal flora. Metabolic analysis showed that jute nano cellulose promoted the biosynthesis of fatty acids and unsaturated fatty acids, accelerated purine metabolism, and increased the expression of antimicrobial peptides, cysteine rich glycoproteins and genes related to apoptosis signal pathway. The research shows that jute nano cellulose can not only regulate beneficial bacteria, but also increase the antiviral effect by enhancing immunity.
