Xinjiang Is About To Usher In A Grand Harvest In Autumn October
China's sustainable cotton will usher in a grand harvest in the golden autumn of October 2023. At the southern foot of Tianshan Mountain in Xinjiang, after the UAV sprayed defoliant on the high standard cotton fields in rows, white cotton blossomed on the branches, waiting for the large cotton picker to open and pick them back to the warehouse. Today, Xinjiang mechanized cotton planting is increasingly known to everyone, and sustainable cotton is becoming another eye-catching label of Xinjiang cotton.
Participated in the China Cotton Sustainable Development Project (CCSD), followed the group standard of "China Cotton" Sustainable Production issued by the China Cotton Association to plant and manage 1.2 million mu of Xinjiang cotton fields, paid attention to the management and use of agricultural chemicals such as pesticides, fertilizers, mulch film, etc., water, soil health, biodiversity protection and greenhouse gas emission reduction in the production management process, Pay attention to cotton quality and traceability, and pay attention to cotton farmers' occupational health, safety, welfare and social responsibility. It is estimated that 170000 tons of CCSD sustainable cotton can be produced this year, all of which are produced in Xinjiang, and their sustainable production methods have been reviewed/certified by a third-party certification company.
On October 8, 2023, the China Cotton Association successfully held the second CCSD on-site exchange meeting on sustainable cotton in Korla, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The on-site meeting invited nearly 200 people from government departments, enterprises in the cotton textile industry chain and the media to visit Guoxin Demonstration Park, a CCSD demonstration farm located in Bagjidai Village, Halayugong Township, Korla City. The drafting and release of CCSD sustainable cotton production and supply chain management standards and a series of domestically initiated sustainable standards have brought together the joint efforts of all sectors of the domestic cotton and textile industry chain, which can be said to be both suitable for China's national conditions and in line with relevant international standards. Next, CCSD will carry out the construction of carbon emission accounting system for cotton, propose targeted emission reduction technologies and policy paths based on the characteristics of the industry, and promote the emission reduction and efficiency increase of the industry. It is believed that in the future, under the guidance of China's sustainable standards, China's cotton industry will accelerate its transformation to high-quality and sustainable development. We hope that you will give more support to China's sustainable cotton and Xinjiang cotton. "

With the concept of "environmental friendliness, good quality, respect for labor, and traceability throughout the process", the China Cotton Association has made great efforts to explore a way that is suitable for China's national conditions An effective path for China's sustainable cotton development covering the whole industry chain, taking into account the balance of economy, ecology and society, will lead the future development of China's cotton and textile industry. CCSD has established the most rigorous production management system in the world at present, and carried out 100% audit+certification based on the first sustainable cotton production standard in China. In terms of supply chain management, CCSD has established the total quota balance model and the production and marketing supervision chain model to conduct traceability management on the whole process of the industrial chain, and pass on the sustainable commitment from the cotton field step by step, and finally to the end consumers. At present, 30 enterprises from the whole industry chain have joined the CCSD project, which has produced 260000 tons of sustainable cotton for two consecutive years. The first batch of CCSD home textiles and clothing products are five pure cotton adult and children's home clothes in the cotton era, and six of the "Ten Rushi" brand and eight of the "Pai" brand under the Yida Group.
