The reporter from China News Service noted that in the first two months, the top four trade partners in Kashgar were Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Pakistan, and the trade volume with these countries increased 57.2%, 119.5%, 87.6% and 15.9 times respectively year on year. Over the same period, Kashgar's import and export trade with countries along the "Belt and Road" increased by 68.6% year on year.

It is reported that in the first two months of this year, Kashgar's foreign trade import and export also showed the following characteristics: from the perspective of trade mode, the border is mainly small, accounting for more than 70%. In the first two months, the import and export of small border trade in Kashgar increased by 135.3% year on year, accounting for 78.0%. In the same period, the import and export of processing trade increased 3756.5 times, accounting for 5.5%.

From the perspective of market players, the vitality of foreign trade operators has been effectively stimulated, and private enterprises have become more active. In the first two months, the import and export of private enterprises increased by 72.2%, accounting for 97.0%. Over the same period, the import and export of state-owned enterprises increased by 13.5 times, accounting for 3.0%. From the perspective of industrial structure, textile clothing and electromechanical products are dominant. The main export products are clothing, mechanical and electrical products, etc; While the export of traditional labor-intensive products has kept growing, the import of high-tech products has achieved rapid development. In the first two months, Kashgar imported high-tech products, with a year-on-year growth of 1259.5 times.

In recent years, the Kashgar region has given full play to its unique regional advantages of "five ports connecting eight countries, one road connecting Europe and Asia", actively implemented various measures such as stabilizing the economy, implementing projects, and helping enterprises to bail out, released policy dividends, and maintained a good momentum of economic development, especially in foreign trade. According to statistics, in 2022, the total foreign trade value of Kashgar region will reach 49.31 billion yuan, accounting for 20% of the total foreign trade value of Xinjiang. It will surpass 30 billion yuan and 40 billion yuan at one fell swoop, an increase of 113.3% over the previous year, 105.6 and 56.3 percentage points higher than that of the whole country and Xinjiang respectively.
