Shanghai State-Owned Enterprises Continue To Contribute "Textile Power" To China'S Aerospace Industry

From the first entry of Chinese astronauts into space in 2003 to the completion of China's first manned rendezvous and docking mission by the "Shenzhou 9" astronauts, and then to assisting the Shenzhou 12, 13, and 14 astronauts to complete the extravehicular mission, Shanghai Textile Science Research Institute Co., Ltd. participated in China's efforts to overcome many problems in extravehicular space clothing textile materials. Through long-term commitment to the research and development of special textile materials for aerospace and other military equipment, the Textile Research Institute has made continuous contributions to the development of national aerospace science and technology and the modernization of national defense by supporting aerospace, defense and military industries and other fields with multiple series of products.

Recently, three scientific research projects of Shanghai Textile Research Institute have won many honors. Among them, the project of "Key Technologies and Applications of Textile Fabrics for Space Personal Protection" and the project of "GB50514-2020 Technical Standards for Nonwovens Factory" won the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the China Textile Industry Federation, and the project of "Research and Development of Self lubricating Fabric Composites and Engineering Applications in Aerospace" won the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Shanghai Science and Technology Award.

Founded in 1956, Shanghai Textile Research Institute has become a leader in technical services in the fields of high-tech textile product research and development, textile engineering design and information services, textile environmental testing and engineering design. Shanghai Textile Research Institute has been carrying the innovation function of China's textile industry for a long time. It has completed more than 1200 scientific research achievements in professional fields, and won 4 national invention awards, 18 national science and technology progress awards, 71 Shanghai science and technology progress awards, and 48 science and technology progress awards from the former Ministry of Textiles and China Textile Federation.
