Therefore, the increase of export amount on a year-on-year basis can not directly represent the increase in the export volume of textiles and clothing. There are many categories of textiles and clothing commodities, and the quantity units include weight and number, so it is impossible to define them uniformly. Starting from the price of cotton and main related raw materials, this paper compares the increase of export amount and raw material price, so as to speculate the general trend of textile and clothing export quantity change.

The cotton price in 2021 / 22 is at a historical high level, and the cost of raw materials for cotton products is high. Considering the time difference between raw materials and finished products, the average cotton price in Xinjiang is 23080 yuan / ton from October 2021 to February 2022, and the average cotton price in Xinjiang from October 2020 to February 2021 is 15265 yuan / ton, with an increase of 51.2%. Over the same period, the price of polyester staple fiber increased by 18.9%, while that of viscose staple fiber increased by 13.9%. According to rough estimation, the price increase of cotton, polyester staple fiber and viscose staple fiber is greater than that of the same period of January to February 2022. Therefore, the author analyzes that the export volume of textiles and clothing from January to February in 2022 may be less than the same period in 2021.

To sum up, with the gradual recovery of other textile and garment exports and the increasing international competition pressure, China's textile and clothing export market is facing great challenges.
