Pakistan'S Textile Exports Increased By 9.06% In The First Nine Months Of This Fiscal Year

Pakistan's business Chronicle reported on April 17, 2021 that the export volume of textile industry, the pillar industry of Pakistan's export, reached 11.355 billion US dollars in the first nine months of this fiscal year (July 2020 to March 2021), an increase of 9.06% compared with the same period last year. Among them, the textile export volume in March just past was 1.355 billion US dollars, which was 9.85% higher than that in February and 30.38% higher than that in March 2020.

According to the Statistics Bureau of Pakistan, in the first nine months of this fiscal year, Pakistan's total exports amounted to US $18.688 billion, an increase of 7.14% over the same period last year. The top export products were knitted clothes, bedding, cotton, cotton yarn, rice, fish and fish products. In the first nine months of this fiscal year, Pakistan's total imports amounted to US $39.519 billion, an increase of 13.59% over the same period last year. The main import products are petroleum and petroleum products, natural gas, palm oil, steel, plastic products, mobile phones, mechanical and electrical equipment, unprocessed cotton, etc. In the first nine months of this fiscal year, Pakistan's trade deficit was 2.083 billion US dollars, an increase of 20.08% compared with the same period last year.
