In 2018, there were more than 300 plastic packaging enterprises in Xiaojiang Town, 76 of which were above Designated Size, and 2126 were distributed in cities (counties and districts) above the county level, and more than 1000 of them were engaged in plastic bag related industries outside Shajiang. The total output value of the plastic package industry in the whole town is nearly ten billion yuan, and the total output value of plastic bags and related industries is about 20 billion yuan, and the total sum of two items is nearly 30 billion yuan.

In 2019 1-9, the output value of woven bags was 4 billion 600 million yuan. Today, Xiaojiang town has become one of the largest production bases of plastic woven bags in China, and has a relatively complete industrial system, worthy of the name of "packaging town".

According to the relevant person in charge of Xiaojiang town government, from 2016 to 2018, the investment in technical transformation funds of the plastic weaving and packaging industry in Xiaojiang town amounted to more than 1 billion 100 million yuan, and the launching of advanced equipment increased the contribution rate of science and technology and labor productivity, reduced labor employment and reduced production cost. The output value of the new product is 1 billion 518 million yuan, and the output value of new and high technology is 2 billion 363 million yuan. Since 2019, science and technology innovation in Xiaojiang town has maintained a good momentum of development. High and new technology enterprises and provincial science and technology enterprises have maintained a relatively high growth rate in terms of declaration, invention patents and investment in research and development, including 4 new high-tech enterprises and 10 small and medium-sized high-tech enterprises.
