US Cotton Export Weekly: Upland Cotton Contract Increase, China Begins To Purchase

According to the US Department of agriculture (USDA) report, on the 12-18 day of July 2019, the amount of us land cotton export contracted in July 2019 was 37 thousand tons, significantly higher than the average value of the previous week and the first four weeks. The main buyers were Vietnam (20 thousand and 700 tons), India (6555 tons), Pakistan (2155 tons), Turkey (1792 tons) and Thailand (1678 tons), and the Japanese contract (522 tons) was cancelled. In the year of 2018/19, the shipment volume of us land cotton exports was 72 thousand and 200 tons, an increase of 3% over the previous week, 3% less than that of the previous four weeks, mainly for Vietnam (18 thousand tons), India (17 thousand and 600 tons), Turkey (11 thousand and 400 tons), Indonesia (4173 tons), and China (3674 tons). In the year of 2019/20, the amount of us land cotton export contract was 47 thousand and 200 tons, the main buyers were Vietnam (30 thousand and 200 tons), China (2608 tons), Indonesia (2427 tons), Bangladesh (2381 tons) and Pakistan (1724 tons).

On the 12-18 th of July 2019, the US contract for the export of Pima cotton was -181 tons in 2018/19. The main buyers were Bahrain (68 tons), Switzerland (45 tons), Greenland (23 tons), and the cancellation of the contract was China (295 tons). In the year of 2018/19, the export volume of American Pima cotton was 1837 tons, 30% less than that of the previous week, 42% less than that of the previous four weeks, mainly shipped to India (1157 tons), Pakistan (317 tons), Thailand (227 tons), Peru (45 tons), Greenland (23 tons). 2019/20 signed 476 tons of Pima cotton export contract, the main buyer of Peru.
