    Against this background, how should China's chemical fiber industry seize the important strategic opportunities of the current and future to stimulate innovation vitality and development potential? How should we adapt to the general trend and grasp the new opportunities of upgrading and upgrading industries, enhancing technological innovation capability and accelerating green development? How can we maintain the sustainability of talents, enterprises, resources and environment, and achieve the sustainable development of chemical fiber industry?

    In view of the present situation of these industries, Duan Xiaoping, vice president of China Textile Industry Federation and President of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, made a keynote speech entitled "sustainable development of China chemical fiber industry" at the China chemical fiber science and Technology Conference (Quanzhou 2019), and put forward four key elements of grasping innovation, resources, environment and talents.

       Xiaoping pointed out that to achieve sustainable development, the chemical fiber industry should not only meet the needs of the contemporary people, but also harm the ability of future generations to meet their needs. At the same time, it is necessary to constantly improve their survival and competitiveness so as to avoid being eliminated by the market.

    The 4 key elements of sustainable development are innovation, resources, environment and talents. Xiaoping pointed out that in today's relatively difficult environment, innovation is more important. Because innovation is the need for survival and the need for development.

    Xiaoping emphasized that the core of innovation is technology. In view of how to innovate in the field of textile and chemical fiber, he believes that innovation needs collaboration and cooperation between the upstream and downstream of the whole industry chain to jointly promote the progress of science and technology. At the same time, innovation can not be against the trend, and can not be against the trend. "At present, the trend of chemical fiber industry is: industrial chain integration, leading effect, subdivision as King (the best in segmented market), including intelligent manufacturing, green manufacturing, brand manufacturing, and so on. If enterprises do not belong to one of these trends, we must pay attention to it." Xiaoping said.

    At present, the development of the world chemical fiber industry is facing the constraints of resources and environmental pressures. Synthetic fiber takes petroleum as the basic raw material, oil is non renewable resources, synthetic fiber is not degradable, and the carbon emissions in production process are large. At present, most of the waste textiles are being used as landfill or incineration. The research of third party organizations abroad thinks that the global "marine micro plastic pollution" mostly comes from textiles. These factors seriously restrict the sustainable development of synthetic fibers. At the end of Xiaoping's view, to solve these problems, we must work hard in 4 aspects: biological sources, recycling, biodegradation, and green manufacturing.

    To achieve sustainable development, we need the support of green manufacturing technology oriented technology system. Xiaoping pointed out that green manufacturing technology can be summarized as "8+3". Among them, "8" refers to green pulping technology, regenerated cellulose fiber one-step nitrate extraction technology, polyester esterification wastewater organic extraction technology, polyester antimony free catalyst polymerization technology, high-performance fiber and product recycling technology, waste textile chemical recovery technology, regenerated polypropylene direct spinning technology, air conditioning system energy saving integrated technology, they all belong to energy saving and emission reduction technology category; "3" refers to the original liquor coloring chemical fiber, bio based chemical fiber, recycled chemical fiber, they all belong to the category of green fiber manufacturing technology.

    Xiaoping also pointed out that in the new normal and new situation, the driving effect of traditional path gradually weakened, so enterprises should carry out path innovation. The new path for the development of China's chemical fiber industry is refining and chemical integration, new product development, green manufacturing and machine substitution. He stressed that green development is very important. Fiber as the source of the development of textile industry chain, its green development process is of great significance for promoting the sustainable development of the textile industry and even the whole society.

    In R & D and talent, Xiaoping appealed: enterprises should pay more attention to talents and R & D. He said that products can be duplicated, but the product development system and mode that are accumulated over a long period of time can hardly be duplicated. Nowadays, many enterprises have R & D centers, but many enterprises have formulated short-term R & D targets for R & D departments. This is not desirable. R & D needs to accumulate over time and not be quick to get instant results. At the same time, enterprises should reserve talents, retain talents, and do some forward-looking research so as not to be subverted by new technologies and new entrants.
