H&M Group Is Working With Shipping Giants To Explore More Environmentally Friendly Commercial Modes Of Spanport.
As part of the group's plan to achieve "climate positive (positive effect on climate)" in 2040, H&M, a fast fashion giant in Sweden, announced the formulation of an environmentally friendly spanportation strategy.
H&M group announces cooperation with the world's largest container shipping company, Maersk (Ma Shiji), to promote the new hybrid biofuel, carbon neutral marine product, whose raw materials come from exhaust cooking oil, which has been tested to promote ship navigation and effectively reduce marine shipping emissions.
H&M group said its spanportation had relatively little impact on the environment in the entire supply chain, accounting for only 2% of the total emissions. Nevertheless, they still want to make use of their size and influence to promote commercial spanportation to make positive changes in a greener and greener direction.
The H&M group also established a "road alliance" with Scania, E.ON and Siemens. The goal of the group is to achieve a commercial heavy spanport system which does not adopt fossil fuels by 2050, by means of alternatives such as intelligent logistics, electric vehicles or biofuels. The latest report released by the channel alliance this month shows that Swedish enterprises are facing great opportunities in this regard. Currently, renewable commercial spanportation alternatives include biogas, biodiesel or renewable diesel, bio ethanol, hydrogen fuel cell and so on.
"We need to achieve the ambitious goal of actively responding to climate change by 2040, which requires cooperation and participation from all sides of the supply chain," Helena Helmersson, chief operating officer of H&M group, said in a statement. We hope to become a force that is beneficial to the society and the environment, so that the innovative solutions to environmental protection and spanportation can be large-scale, such as carbon neutral marine products and more environmentally friendly commercial spanportation systems.
Earlier this month, the US fashion luxury brand Ralph Lauren revealed in its 2019 earnings report that it plans to set up a scientific greenhouse gas emission reduction target by 2020 and set a target of 100% renewable energy by the end of this year. Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger parent PVH Corp also launched the "Forward Fashion" corporate responsibility strategy, which aims to reduce the negative impact on the environment by reducing carbon emissions by using more renewable energy and avoiding waste from landfill.
