The leaders of the association believe that the textile industry in Fujian mainly has the following problems: first, the shortage of labor force in the enterprises; the lack of labor in some cotton spinning, chemical fiber and weaving enterprises; some new capabilities are facing difficulties in the shortage of employees; two, there is a shortage of funds for technological transformation of enterprises, especially for small enterprises, which are difficult to transform and upgrade, and the transformation and upgrading of enterprises are slow. For example, the transportation cost of Xinjiang cotton to Fujian is 700 yuan / ton (excluding freight subsidy of 500 yuan per ton), the normal situation is 800 yuan / ton (transported to Henan is basically 600 yuan / ton), reaching 1400-1500 yuan / ton in the peak period of 11 month.

In the context of a sharp fall in cotton prices, the domestic cotton industry is experiencing pains, and the Fujian cotton textile industry has not been spared. This year, sales began to be difficult since April, and the inventory is 20 days, obviously higher. Some local enterprises have already reduced the price of blended yarn by 1000-2000 yuan / ton for capital turnover. Even if losses are running, enterprises can not easily stop work. Compared to the mainland textile enterprises concentrated in the county and village level, Yongan employees basically rely on work to maintain life, once shut down, the difficulty of re opening will be much higher than Shandong, Henan, Jiangsu and other textile provinces.

According to the reporter, in this round of cotton price drop process, the pressure of Fujian textile enterprises is greater than that of the mainland enterprises. Enterprises in Henan, Shandong and other places can reduce the turnover period of raw materials to 7-10 days. However, Fujian textile enterprises produce polyester cotton blended products, and with cotton blending and transportation distance, inventory is usually in 2-3 months, even if the stocks are few, the enterprises will remain at 1.5-2 months.
