Delegation From China Federation Of Textile Industry Visited Jordan

Yang Jizhao, vice president of China Textile Industry Federation and President of China knitwear industry association, took part in the delegation to inspect the delegation about investment. They arrived in Jordan on April 30th and entered the Hassan Industrial Park in the northern city of northern Iraq.

Director of the International Trade Office of China Federation of textile industry, vice president of textile industry branch of China Council for the promotion of international trade, Lin Yunfeng, deputy director of China Textile Industry Federation marketing department, Qu Jing, vice president of China knitted Industrial Association, Li Rui Ping, vice president of China printing and dyeing Industry Association, Li Guimei, vice president of China Industrial Textiles Association, vice chairman of China knitted Industrial Association, Tian Zhongjun of Jilin northeast hosiery textile industrial park development Co., Ltd., and other textile association leaders, and several textile industry executives.

The delegation held a symposium with the Jordanian Industrial Park Development Corporation, the chamber of Commerce and industry and the investment department, and the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and communication on the investment environment of Jordan.

The delegation then visited two garment enterprises located in the park.

Among them, Classic Fashion is a India garment enterprise invested mainly in sports. It mainly produces sports apparel, and its products are exported to the United States, with an annual export volume of about 600 million dollars. The company has more than 20 thousand employees, 65% of them are from Bangladesh, 25% are local employees, 10% are from other countries, and are the largest garment manufacturing enterprises in the park.

The delegation also visited the Shenzhen Textile Group Limited by Share Ltd.

The company has been in Jordan for eighteen years, mainly for American brand Lauren, such as Polo shirts and other casual wear, currently has more than 500 employees, from five countries.

It is understood that the minimum wage of the employees of the two enterprises is about $310 a month, and the exemption from export to the US market is the main factor to attract them to invest.

The clothing industry is one of the main industrial sectors in Jordan, providing more than 70 thousand jobs for the local people.

The development of Jordan's textile and garment industry was mainly due to the US agreed to set up a "qualified industrial area (QIZ)" in 1996, and the clothing products produced in QIZ were sold to the United States to enjoy tariff free concessions.
