Nantong Adds A National Innovation Platform, Schools And Enterprises To Help Textile Industry Pformation

In the afternoon of April 23rd, the National Joint Research Center for research and development of special fiber composites for safety protection was unveiled at Nantong University. It added a national research and innovation platform for Nantong.

The research center will carry out scientific and technological research around high-end textiles and special materials through school enterprise cooperation, and promote the pformation and development of "textile town" in Nantong.

It is reported that the research center is a national science and technology innovation platform approved by the national development and Reform Commission in December 2017. It focuses on 6 aspects, namely, nuclear and biochemical protection, high-performance fiber composites, radiation protection high-performance fiber composites, bullet proof and mechanical damage resistant high-performance fiber composites, thermal protection high-performance fiber composites, medical protective high-performance fiber composites and wearable intelligent high-performance fiber composite materials. It carries out the whole chain innovative design from basic research, applied research, product development, achievements pformation and industrialization, and solves major common technical problems in the development of related industries such as spinning and emergency protection.

In recent years, the research center has undertaken more than 30 national key research and development projects, the National Natural Science Foundation, the special funds for the pformation of science and technology achievements in Jiangsu, the Jiangsu science and technology support industrial plan, and the Jiangsu Natural Science Fund and so on. It has undertaken more than 100 projects entrusted by enterprises. It has been awarded more than 10 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological progress awards by the China Textile Federation's first prize in science and technology progress, the Ministry of education's two progress in science and technology progress, and the two progress in the army's science and technology progress, and so on, and authorized more than 50 national invention patents.

Nantong is known as the "textile town", and the largest export area of textile products in Jiangsu province.

To seize the new round of technological revolution and industrial pformation opportunities, Nantong put forward the "3+3+N" industrial development system.

As a traditional pillar industry in Nantong, the textile industry is also facing a critical period of upgrading and intellectualization.

On the exchange meeting, schools and enterprises have conducted in-depth discussions on R & D demand, platform construction and project declaration.

"We hope to use the high-end platform of the national joint project research center to build more support for school enterprise cooperation, and encourage high-end textile enterprises in Nantong to declare a high level research and development platform, improve their R & D capability and promote the pformation and development of the high-end textile industry."
