Hand embroidery is an excellent traditional national craft in China. It is also an important part of China's intangible cultural heritage. However, with the development of the times, part of the manual embroidery technology has encountered many difficulties in its development.

Li Shaoyu is a representative inheritor of Chongqing's intangible cultural heritage "Pengshui Miao Embroidery". At the age of seven or eight, he began to learn embroidery.

When he was young, Li Shaoyu went out to work and knew the importance of "mastering a skill" in his work.

In 2006, she returned home to start her own business, picking up Miao embroidery techniques.

Li Shaoyu is in charge of checking technology, and his lover is responsible for management. Both of them have produced many embroidered girls in their hometown. Meanwhile, the brand of "Pengshui Miao Embroidery" is gradually known by the industry.

"In Chongqing, in addition to Pengshui Miao embroidery, Youyang Miao embroidery, Wanzhou Three Gorges embroidery and Wuxi Ninghe embroidery are all business cards of mountain city's heritage culture."

Li Shaoyu introduced, through investigation and research, she found that people in the industry generally formed a consensus: look forward to the departments concerned to lead the establishment of traditional manual embroidery Research Institute, and do a special research on the inheritance and development of traditional handicrafts, and display the embroidery operation process, embroidery tools, embroidery history and other aspects in a multifaceted and multiform way, constantly keep up with the trend of the times, and enrich the display methods and contents of embroidery.

Li Shaoyu also mentioned that the existing market of embroidery industry is not perfect enough, and the shortage of technicians is a problem.

To this end, she made two suggestions.

On the one hand, she hoped that relevant departments of the state would pay attention to and perfect the embroidery industry, strengthen the supervision of the embroidery market, avoid imitation embroidery, poor quality embroidery, rough embroidery in the market circulation, timely correct unfair competition behavior in the embroidery market, ensure the quality of hand-made products, and further promote the healthy development of traditional manual embroidery.

On the other hand, in view of the current shortage of traditional manual embroidery personnel, Li Shaoyu suggested that the relevant departments should incorporate traditional handicrafts into the education system.

In the colleges and universities, the traditional manual embroidery specialty course is set up to strengthen the young people's understanding of this traditional culture, stimulate young people's interest in learning, and cultivate traditional manual embroidery talents.

Li Shaoyu told reporters that combining the work practice shows that the traditional skills of non heritage can help to tackle poverty and revitalize the countryside.

Take its company as an example, in 2018, a month long "Pengshui Miao Embroidery" poverty relief training was held, and 46 trainees were trained, among which 26 were built by needy families.

After the training, all the students learned the basic skills of embroidery, and 35 students signed a long-term labor contract with the company. Their monthly income was above 1800 yuan.

In view of the participation of the intangible cultural heritage in helping the poor, Li Shaoyu suggested that the relevant departments should increase their policy support, establish a poverty alleviation project library for non heritage skills, set up a financial service system for poverty alleviation, strengthen financial support and strengthen departmental linkage, and focus on training, promoting and marketing various forms of skills, promotion and marketing services for poor families, women staying behind, and disabled persons, so as to ensure that they can not get rid of poverty and return to poverty.
