Out Of Xinjiang Pport Progress Slightly Slow, Seed Cotton Acquisition Is Coming To An End.

According to 2015/16 annual output, consumption within the territory

One of the important factors of high spot prices is the significant increase in cotton consumption capacity in the 2016/17 territory. The number of high-grade and high-quality cotton exported to Xinjiang in October 2016 of August -2017 declined rapidly compared with the previous years.

The goal of the development of Xinjiang's textile and garment industry is to achieve 12 million spindles of cotton spinning capacity in 2015-2017 years, but in 2015 alone, the target of this stage has been over fulfilled.

It is estimated that the cotton yarn production capacity in Xinjiang will be increased to more than 20 million spindles in 2018. There will be no pressure on the production of 18 million spindles from 2016 to 2017, because the C21-C40S yarn is the main yarn in the territory, so 18 million spindles will be produced.

The scale needs to consume about 90-100 tons of lint cotton (because some spindles are viscose, spandex and other synthetic yarn and blended yarns, and the scale of the spinning is small).

According to statistics from relevant departments, in September 2015 -2016, Xinjiang cotton was pported to 3 million 33 thousand and 600 tons in the mainland in August, of which 1 million 936 thousand and 900 tons and 1 million 96 thousand and 700 tons of highway and railway traffic were respectively pported. But another 5-8 tons of small cotton in the eastern Xinjiang or the hand picked cotton in southern Xinjiang were pported to the mainland (mainly cotton and civilian cotton) without public inspection.

In December, most cotton picking in Xinjiang was basically over, and seed cotton acquisition was coming to an end. As of November 30, 2016, the picking rate in Xinjiang was 96.97%, 1.43 percentage points slower than last year, and the sales volume reached 3 million 390 thousand tons, accounting for 92.07% of the total output. The progress was 0.23 percentage points slower than last year.

It is therefore speculated that the number of cotton producing areas in 2016/17 will be about 270-280 million tons without considering the participation of cotton enterprises in the auction of state-owned cotton stores in the territory, representing a decrease of 35-50 million tons compared with 2015/16.

If the cotton textile enterprises in the territory actively participate in the auction of the national cotton store after March, considering the pportation and subsidies, the auction volume or about 100 thousand tons, Xinjiang cotton will increase to 280-290 million tons, less than 300 thousand tons in 2015/16.
