From the survey of Jiangsu and Zhejiang enterprises in March by the China hemp textile industry association, the sale price of flax yarn with the same number in the market is about 10% different, resulting in the backlog of products and the price of each other.

According to customs statistics, the total export of hemp garments in China in 2015 was 26 billion 675 million US dollars, down 5.96% compared with 28 billion 365 million US dollars in the same period in 2014. The total number of garments exported was 3 billion 999 million, compared with 4 billion 197 million in the same period in 2014, which decreased by 4.72%. The export volume and export amount of linen garments showed negative growth for the first time.

Raw materials depend heavily on imports and restrict development.

Delegates generally agreed that the bottleneck problem of linen raw materials has become more prominent in recent years, which has restricted the development of linen industry.

On the one hand, China's Linen raw materials are basically dependent on imports and prices remain high.

In 2015, the linen textile industry in China consumed about 210 thousand tons of flax fiber, of which 184 thousand tons of imported flax raw materials and 87.62% of imports accounted for.

Especially in the past two years, the import demand for flax raw materials in China is higher, so the price of linen in Europe is still high.

The average price of imported hemp in 2015 was 2.99 US dollars / kg, compared with 1.84 US dollars / kg in 2010, the increase was 62.50%, which caused great pressure on the production of enterprises. In 2015, the total number of imported flax raw materials increased by 10.53% in China, and the total import value was 439 million US dollars, up 0.38% over the same period last year.

On the other hand, the domestic flax raw material has been severely shrunk due to the lack of high-quality seeds and advanced harvesting techniques, resulting in a serious shortage of linen's right to speak in terms of price, quality and grade of imported raw materials.

It is estimated that in 2015, the planting area of Flax in China was less than 100 thousand mu, mainly distributed in Heilongjiang and Xinjiang, and decreased by 50% compared with 2009.

Due to the lack of good seeds and advanced harvesting equipment, there are not many suitable climatic zones for rain and dew.

Because China's flax raw materials rely heavily on imports, the development of Linen Industry in China is extremely unfavourable.

Some enterprise representatives reflect: "in the case of reduced orders and falling prices, enterprises are facing sales difficulties.

Some flax enterprises have to sell products at low cost in order to return the funds, which will bring adverse effects to the flax industry.

Eliminating unfavorable factors and meeting difficulties together

Delegates have expressed their views and put forward suggestions on how to eliminate unfavorable factors and make the flax industry develop steadily and healthily.

In view of the fact that the price of imported flax raw materials is high and the quality of domestic flax raw materials is low, the delegates suggested that China Ma textile industry association hope to study and discuss with the relevant departments of Heilongjiang Province, and how to vigorously develop linen planting in Heilongjiang Province, take advantage of the original Asian flax planting advantages, and gradually expand the planting area of Heilongjiang Province in a planned and step by step way under the premise of protecting the interests of farmers, so as to reproduce the brilliant exploration ideas of Flax in Heilongjiang province.

As for the previous stage of disorderly competition in the flax market, the participants said that the linen industry is a small industry in the big textile industry. As an industry, it should take care of this market and develop together.

The early linen market is not ideal, causing some disorderly competition in some flax enterprises, which is not conducive to the development of linen industry.

Therefore, flax enterprises should not overly reduce prices in the process of selling products, resulting in confusion in the flax market.
