Japanese textile banned azo dyes Act came into effect in April 1, 2016.

In order to reduce the cost of testing and promote Sino Japanese trade, Xia Lingmin, vice chairman of the China Textile Industry Federation, visited Japan in late September 2015 to exchange views with the Japanese on the promotion and use of the white list management system.

The white list management system can not only manage the specific azo dyes to ban aromatic amines, so as to meet the requirements of the Japanese law for textile safety, and with the continuous optimization of the system, it can also manage more chemicals, save more costs for the enterprises, and consumers can feel free to buy and trade more smoothly.

Xia Lingmin said that the visit to Japan is to further understand the opinions and suggestions of all parties in Japan so as to further optimize the system and make it easier for enterprises to use it.

In Japan, product safety is a matter of great concern. Since 2009, China and Japan have begun to discuss and determine the safety of textiles exported to Japan by the white list management system. In April 1, 2016, the implementation of the specified azo dye act to ban the release of carcinogenic aromatic amines was a landmark turning point for the Japanese textile industry. 96% of the textiles in the Japanese market were imported, most of which came from China. The whitelist is a very good system, and has come to the stage of application.

The Federation will increase the certification strength of the "white list enterprises", strictly control them, and improve the usability of the whitelist system, which is simple and convenient.
